On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 a cessation of hostilities took place ending World War I.
President Woodrow Wilson declared this Armistice Day and it was celebrated as such until a veteran named Weeks fought for and gained a change in 1954 to Veterans Day, honoring veterans and not the cessation of war, which is what it has been called and celebrated as since.
I choose to celebrate it’s original meaning today, as I believe the laying down of arms is the ultimate ideal for every military person, dead or alive. The ultimate goal of any war, regardless of reason, is peace, or a union of souls in agreement. Even if you don’t believe in warring or in the reason for the war, sometimes “peace” still becomes the very reason we fight.
11:11 is also a number of spiritual awakening.
Many people seeing 11:11 or 111 frequently report this as the start of their transformational spiritual journey.
Today, for me, is an Armistice Day of the soul, so to speak. An awakening/deepening.
There is one thing I have control over regardless of the people in my life, where I live, social order or finances. That is my own inner peace.
Perhaps it’s time for me to put down my arms.
To stop fighting with myself (and ultimately others.) It’s time for me to be my true self without regret. To truly love myself and step into that truth. I’ve lived long enough listening to what others think I should do, say or feel. That never worked for me. I would just then blame others for my problems.
And my problem is not “out there” in the “broken system”… that way of thinking keeps my focus on external, which I cannot change. I have control of me, and that’s all.
I’m not the only one who has given over my power to others. It’s common. And I’ve noticed something else that we all have in common. We all want to be loved at our core for who we really are. Gay. Jew. Black. White. Transgender. Muslim.
To be who we are with complete freedom, completely safe, is a rare rare gift indeed. To have someone love you that way is exceedingly rare. I don’t even want to call it love— I need to come up with a whole new word because the Conscious Masses Mindset (click here for my blog on Conscious Masses Mindset) has bastardized the meaning of the word “love”. It is used over and over to describe Conditional Love.
I don’t even want to call it Unconditional Love- which it is! That phrase has long since lost its power and meaning.
I was taught that kind of love exists only in some parent-child relationships, and in the way God/Creator loves us.
So my new word for Unconditional Love- the kind that transforms, (and that’s how you know you have it)- is Omni Love. I chose that word pairing because Omni means all. For me, it represents the love of everything God loves. I use the term God, but please feel free to say Source, Allah, Universe, Almighty… even in the text of the Bible God didn’t go by a name. Just “I Am That I Am.” So clearly, what we call the Creator of All is not material.
I am going to shorten Omni Love to O-love. Or Olove. I like Olove, because it sounds like olive, and an olive branch is the symbol for peace. Olove is something we are all capable of! But it starts within. You are enough. Just the crazy way you are! God loves you just the way you are. So love what God loves!
So in the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, I will celebrate a laying down of arms against myself and in turn all others.
Because if I have no battle with me- I certainly don’t have one with you! I accept myself fully the way I am- $3 bill different and all. And I accept YOU. For who you are. I love YOU. Whoever you are! And I will tell you how wonderful you are and I will find your gifts and show them to you and I will do the thing that everyone told me I needed to stop doing— finding the best in everyone.
Because that’s not what’s “wrong with me”…
That’s my Superpower!
11-11 will forever be the day that true love (Omni) entered my life!
